about

howdy.
This is about me, so I'm going to say 'I' a lot.
I was trained in Sculpture. I believe in the importance of having a conceptual basis for the things we make and in the importance of craft. I believe we can figure out how to make things within the constraints of time and money.

Later, I was trained in Animation; and I believe in the creation of arresting images and compelling style to grab attention and move emotionally.

I've taught art and animation, and I believe in the importance of communication, collaboration, and inspiration. I also believe it's important to understanding the meaning and power of the images we create or borrow.

I've been a creative director at Digital Kitchen, Superfad, and Favorite Color. I believe it's important to support the brand of the things we advertise, while expanding their reach through the addition of that undefinable quality - beauty.

Here's a little interview I did with Stash last year, talking about the connection between art and commercial work.
